"I don’t even know where to begin with this property. I thought I would be celebrating my birthday at a nice and equipped resort and this was no where near that to say the least. The hotel is outdated , the rooms are outdated, the food is lacking and the front desk staff can use a little more training. One of the first things for any future guests to know is PLEASE bring small face towels because they don’t have any and don’t provide any. The only towels they have are medium and big towels and the medium is still too big to wash your body. They provide blankets on request and are not in every room. Mosquitoes run ramped in the rooms so make sure you get some bug spray to use. The hosts that walks you to your room should not hound patrons for a tip. Let them offer you one. I was literally walked two steps away to my room from the front desk and the first thing the host said was “do you have a tip for me”. Then the room I was given was not up to any standard the balcony is nasty and needs cleaning and also the view below my room while standing on the balcony is full of trash it definitely wasn’t a site to see. There are no activities on this resort so please don’t expect any other than getting in the pool and going on the beach. What I will say is that it being on the beach would’ve been the only plus. The bar staff were all nice and kind. I was so very disappointed in the food options that were provided. The food options that they had were catered to Hispanic taste buds."

"The staff at the few restaurants that was opened were nice but the front desk guy that checked us in was horrible, rude , unkind and separated my family and i, we slept on differentfloorsafter he threatened to put us in separatebuildings. Refused to give me a baby crib for my baby. My bathroom was grimy and flooded, I couldn't take a proper shower as it was gross. My room have a strong chemical smell, like from a mosquito repellent. It made my baby so sick and I have to bring him to the hospital tomorrow. My experience was a sad one. I will never EVER go back there. Worst way I have spent thousands of dollars in my life. "

"It’s a beautiful resort. Very clean and it is beautifully decorated. The food at the Japanese restaurant was very good. I do have to say that the service actually left me very underwhelmed. The staff did not seem concerned with helping. You have to actually run after people to get service. Most were not friendly. I requested a hair dryer because my room was missing one, they took a really long time to bring it and when they did, it was not even working. I had to ask a housekeeper for one from an empty room. My room was also not done with construction. The walls and ceiling were not painted and it looked like they were in the middle of finishing it up. My favorite part was the beach club. It’s probably the most beautiful beach club I’ve been to BUT again, the service was horrible. We waited over 40 minutes for drinks at the restaurant upstairs. "

"Our stay at this resort in Cancun was extremely disappointing and far from the relaxing vacation we expected. The biggest issue was the complete lack of seating around the swimming pools. The resort simply does not have enough lounge chairs for the number of guests and rooms they accommodate. Because of this, guests were waking up as early as 5:00 AM just to reserve chairs by the pool by placing towels on them. Unfortunately, we had to do the same every single morning if we wanted any chance of enjoying the pool area. Having to set an alarm for 5 AM during a vacation completely defeats the purpose of being on holiday. What made the experience worse was that the staff were not accommodating or helpful with even minor requests. When guests are paying for a resort experience, basic amenities like pool seating should be accessible without this kind of stress or competition. A vacation should be relaxing and carefree, not a daily race for chairs at sunrise. The property clearly oversells capacity relative to available amenities, and management does not seem to address the issue. Overall, this situation took the fun out of what was supposed to be a relaxing getaway. I would strongly recommend that the resort either significantly increase seating capacity around the pools or enforce fair policies on reserving chairs. Until that happens, I would think twice before staying here."

"Clean, beautiful, only adults hotel; old but well-maintained. Small, but if you need more amenities, you can use the sibling hotel next door. Be ready for craziness with kids and family all over the place. "

"Dear Team, I am writing to escalate concerns from my recent stay at GR Solaris Cancun Resort, which fell significantly below expectations. 1. Room Allocation & Handling (Primary Concern) Despite booking a king bed, we were given two small double beds. No resolution was provided. We were asked to check out at 11 AM and wait until 3 PM for a new room—forcing us to wait 4 hours with valuables, which is unacceptable. 2. Misleading Lagoon View The lagoon view room had a completely blocked view. Expedia images appear misleading. 3. Food Issues Very limited vegetarian options; customization took excessively long. 4. Slow Service Service across the resort was consistently slow. 5. No Drinks at Closing No beverages were served near closing time. 6. Missing Basic Amenities No dental kit available; we were asked to purchase one. 7. Room Key Issues Key malfunctioned repeatedly despite multiple fixes. 8. Shuttle Mismanagement Asked to be ready at 2 PM; shuttle arrived at 2:20 PM. The travel agent was unhelpful and rude. This delay risked missing our flight. Overall, this experience was frustrating and not aligned with expected standards. I request a prompt response with corrective actions and appropriate compensation."
