Adultos mayoresPosted Nov 22, 2015

Pros: LA UBICACION, EL HOTEL EN GENERAL
Cons: LIMPIEZA DE HABITACIONES AMPLIAR LOS HORARIOS DEL BUFET Y VARIEDAD EN LOS MENUS SURTIDO DEL SERVIBAR
Location: MUY BIEN SITUADO A UNAS CALLES DE LA ZONA TURISTICA DE PLAYA DEL CARMEN
EL HOTEL ES BUENO, PERO LO HAN DESCUIDADO DE UN AÑO A LA FECHA EL ALL INCLUSIVE LO TIENEN MUY MAL ENFOCADO, EN OTROS HOTELES SIMILARES EL SERVIBAR TIENE MUCHO M AS SURTIDO QUE SOLO SEIS REFRESCOS Y EN ESTA OCASION ME DIJERON QUE EL SERVIBAR SOLO ESTA LLENO A LA LLEGADA, Y YA NO RESURTIERON EN OTROS HOTELES INCLUYEN POR CADA DOS DIAS DE ESTANCIA UN RESTAURANT DE ESPECIALIDADES, AQUI NO DAN NINGUNO EL BUFET ES BUENO PERO LE FALTA MUCHO MAS SURTIDO

Under ConstructionPosted Nov 12, 2015
Pros: Staff was friendly.
Cons: Be honest, and let people know there is construction happening before they book here.
Location: shopping and outside dining is a 5 to 10 minute walk.
Part of the hotel is under construction (right near pool and beach and some rooms) and you will hear noise (hammering, saws, drilling) night and day. Showering is difficult between 4-7pm as the water pressure is low and water won't come out of the showerhead, and no hot water at all. Buffet was ok, not very many choices for vegetarians, restaurants were great. Staff was friendly. The first couple of days they will try and get you to listen to a speech about timeshares/viewing their new hotel and promotions.

Mediocre at best.Posted Nov 12, 2015
Pros: Staff was really friendly and helpful. Loved the location, just a five minute walk from town.
Staff was nice! A few employees were aggressive with the Vacation Club even after we had only been at the hotel a few hours. Also, another employee kept asking us if we wanted a special deal to go to Coco Bongo in town, even after we had turned him down. Food was mostly bland, and not a lot of variety. Mexican food on the buffet was minimal and most of the food was incredibly salty. Snack bar was pretty good, but the hours were inconvenient. We got back after dinner one night but were too tired to wait up for the snack bar to open and ended up skipping dinner. The biggest issue was the construction on the main dining room. This area was under construction during our entire stay, and the noise was incredibly off-putting while at the pool and beach. There was a one foot walkway between the pool and scaffolding, and one night we say the wind blow the scaffolding completely in the pool. Luckily no one was walking on the path, or they would have been seriously injured. Over all, the resort was okay, but we wouldn't stay here again. We've visited Playa before and had much better experiences at similarly priced resorts.

Honeymoon at the Reef Playa Del CarmPosted Nov 8, 2015
We enjoyed our stay at the Reef. We felt that this was a smaller all inclusive resort and we're happy that the resort staff were very personable. We did two excursions through the resort and had a great time! Alejandro was our tour guide and was fantastic! We enjoyed our hammock on our balcony and used it every day. The beach had beautiful blue water and white sand. The beaches were cleaned of the sea weed every day. The grounds were kept up immaculately. The food was good I enjoyed the options available for the meals but my husband did not. My husband chose to leave the resort and go out on 5th Street and eat local food, he was on a desperate search for American Cuisine which he never really found. The locals were very nice and respectful and the other guests at the hotel were very friendly. We would definitely recommend this resort to our friends and family.

Nice hotel close to beachPosted Nov 8, 2015
Location: There is lots of things nearby, walking distance from downtown
At the time the hotel was refurbishing their buffet area. A lot of noise from jack hammering. There is no more discotec, that was one of the reasons I picked this place as they used to have one. Made it a Japanese restaurant. They did have sand on the beach this time, but had quit a bit of seaweed and boats anchored in the area.

A good deal for the money.Posted Nov 5, 2015
Pros: Location, beach, pool, fitness center, bikes available, food.
Cons: Be able to swim in the pool later than 8p.m., fitness center should be accessible 24/7, more Mexican food on the buffet.
Location: Great, quiet, location where you have access to all activities/excursions offered in Playa and areas nearby.
My daughter and I just returned from 5 days in Playa del Carmen at the Reef Coco Beach. We had read several bad reviews about the hotel, but we don't have demanding tastes and decided to take the chance. It was an excellent decision. The hotel had all the amenities we wanted along with a relaxed atmosphere. We read several reviews that complained about the boats anchored directly off shore, but we couldn't figure out why anyone complained about that when there is a huge, undeveloped, beach that extends a couple miles north of the resort, so it is easy to avoid the boats and still enjoy the beach. Reef Coco Beach is one of the last resorts at the north end of Playa, so it is a quiet location, but where you can still easily access all the action on Quinta Avenida, if that is what you are looking for. We used the local, ADO, buses to go to Tulum, Xcaret, and Coba. ADO is a great, cheap alternative to get where you want to go and we would highly recommend traveling with ADO. We would definitely stay at Reef Coco Beach again.

Friendly staff and Great PoolPosted Nov 4, 2015
Pros: Pool and Staff
Cons: Get rid of the boats out front and fix the hot water
Resort had some remodeling going on the created some noise but overall is wasn't a distraction. We loved the Pool and staff. especially our waiter (most of the time) Eduardo! It was within easy walking distance of 5th Ave.
