"Both elevators did not work. Needed to climb 12 floors on foot. While checking out staff asked "how was your stay". I mentioned the elevators not working made for a poor experience. The response was "I'm sorry to hear that". Not sure what the point of asking is if there's no intention to rectify the situation."

"Hotel location is fantastic. For a family of 4 with two little children, the walk to Central Park was a breeze. There are cafes and restaurants near by for easy access to breakfast, lunch and dinner. Room itself was clean and a good size for a NYC hotel. There was no closet to put clothes which was a bummer but we managed to live in the chaos for a short while. I would definitely return to Empire to explore this part of the city more."

"My favorite part about this hotel was definitely the location! Close to everything! You could walk to so many things amd the subwayvwas literally around the corner. The staff was super friendly. My only complaint was not having a fridge in the room. "

"Avoid at all cost! What a terrible experience! The rooms looked dingy and it smelled like mold, we were moved to another floor when I brought up the smell of mold. Notice the mold on the ceiling. Paper thing walls, the noise was so loud, the drilling sounded like it was right under my bed, you'll hear everything. There was a fight between a couple right in the middle of the night, right across our room and the police had to come. The beds were used up and uncomfortable. The shower nob was broken. We didn't have water for a day. Worse hotel I stayed in NYC and I stayed in many of them."

"The Internet was slow! As a matter of fact, we couldn’t even watch TV because it kept going out. Don’t even bother somebody else."
