"We had a great stay in the 2 bedroom unit. great set up and was super clean. Loved the proximity to the shopping area and restaurants. Only issue was the front door lock, noticed a lot of the other people were leaving the lock open. Would stay here again "

"Quite simply one of the loveliest, friendliest hotels I've stayed in for a while - helped by being in the most beautiful of cities. Friendly staff, great decor, spaces to read and work and good food. Room was lovely and spacious. "

"My college best friend and I wanted to get away from our lives for a weekend to celebrate our 35th college graduation anniversary and our special friendship. We thoroughly enjoyed the suite and the entire island, but mostly we cherished spending time together reconnecting! Thank you for your amazing hospitality. "

"Very nice room. Good location. Nice breakfast included in price. Nice walking area. Good restaurants in walking distance.
Parking was valet parking only which at first I thought I wouldn't like. I stayed 5 nights and the valet parking was actually great and very convenient."
"The accommodations were clean, comfortable and welcoming. And then there is location, location, location! Amazing view! Lots of green space for walking, sitting on a bench or in a gazebo admiring the view. We also enjoyed some late afternoons on the front porch of this home. Nearby tennis and pickleball courts. Residential neighborhood with beautiful gardens and interesting architecture. A short walk or drive to restaurants and shops. Our host, Dan was very welcoming and has a vast knowledge of local history and culture as well as an entrepreneur. We left with a variety of his Captain Mowatt’s sauces. "
"A rare gem. On the Southern Maine Community College Campus. Steps away from water. A well restored former military residence, likely for officers. A true Maine experience. The inn is staffed by students. With few exceptions, all are genuinely eager to service well, learn, and support a satisfying guest experience."
"Fabulous old building with LOTS of character, and even better people running the place. Only knock was the narrow stairs, would stay here again though"
"Fantastic place to stay when visiting Portland. The location can't be beat -- within a couple of blocks to the ferry terminal and Old Town shops and restaurants. The building is next to a police station and my family and I felt very safe. The unit was immaculate, modern, and fully equipped. Onsite parking was a huge bonus, as was the friendly and helpful staff. I would, without hesitation, stay at The Docent's Collection again."
"We really enjoyed our stay. Great location, staff couldn’t have been more friendly, and a clean comfortable room. Snacks and a Keurig in the hall for all on the floor to share was nice, although there was something wrong with the Keurig. (It worked, but there were multiple times I had to run it twice.)"
"Did NOT appreciate paying $40. For parking as the hotel was quite expensive. Everything else was exceptional esp. front desk and valet staff! Would recommend to others😊👍"
"Wonderful location and parking is included - hard to find during the summer months. Appreciated ability to cook some meals and mostly well stocked kitchen - great appliances. Comfortable sitting area in LR and space to spread out. "
Waterfront Two Master Suite Penthouse with Rooftop

"Amazing location, clean comfy beds and bathrooms, and the views were phenomenal. We caught a storm coming in and the rainbow after. Would definitely come back. "
Private Rooftop Deck!/Artsy Apt/Old Port Arts Dist
10/10 Excellent
"We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful apartment in Portland, ME. The location is unbeatable — nestled in a cool, walkable neighborhood with great restaurants just around the corner or within a few minutes' walk. It made exploring the city on foot incredibly easy and enjoyable. The apartment itself is a real gem. It’s modern and thoughtfully designed, with just the right mix of contemporary style and carefully chosen antique pieces that give it warmth and character. Everything was spotless and well-maintained, and the space felt welcoming from the moment we arrived. The private rooftop deck was a huge bonus — a perfect place to unwind and enjoy the view after a day out. We also really appreciated the host allowing us to check in early, which made a big difference given our early travel schedule that day.Another small but very helpful feature: there’s a loading zone right in front of the building, which made unloading our suitcases super convenient. All in all, this was one of the best Vrbo stays we’ve had, and we’d absolutely return next time we’re in Portland."
"It was amazing. Free cookies and bottled water in lobby. Breakfast was excellent. Was able to walk everywhere we wanted to and got a great lobster meal as well. Valet parking was so worth it as well"

"We loved this hotel. The staff was the friendliest I have ever encountered. The room was very nice and comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding. Easy walk to shows, breweries and lots of shops and restaurants. Safe area. "

Island View House BnB Self Check-In # 4 / Free Off-Street Parking
10/10 Excellent
"Great location! Loved the neighborhood and was within walking distance of Old Port. Clean and was stocked with everything we needed. The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating. Would stay here again!"
"This authentic Victorian house was so super cute! The host was very communicative and checked in on us. It was foggy while we were there and Dan seemed to genuinely feel bad about it (we didn't mind). The location was perfect across from the park with so much history. On our way out he gave us a tour of his hot sauce factory (in his garage) that was quite impressive. He's very proud and he should be. The sauce was amazing. His dog was super sweet, too! The very best part was the deck! It was absolutely beautiful, fog and all! "
Incredible Location! Heart of Old Port/Spacious Apartment

"Incredible location, just steps away from everything. Beds were comfortable, but bring eye masks for upstairs rooms! The skylight windows are beautiful! "
