“The staff was amazing! The room was spacious and spotless… and the hotel was beautiful- right in the heart of Charleston. I’ve been to Charleston many times but this was my first stay at the Francis Marion. It did not disappoint! ”

“Tides hotel has gone downhill in recent years as we’ve stayed there multiple times previously. The hotel upkeep was lacking, walls banged up, needs painting, visible mold in shower and floorboards, “balcony “ door barely opened, balcony is just enough room to step out -no room for a chair. elevators stopped working at one point and lobby area ceiling leaked in several places ( with buckets out to collect it) when it rained. Pinky’s restaurant food was not worth going to. Great location, but……

“Parking was easy and both of the valet that assisted us were very friendly and efficient. The wine and snacks in the afternoon were very relaxing, with a lovely view and very friendly ladies serving. Breakfast was ok each day, but we would have liked a meat option in addition to the quiches and frittatas. The room was very clean and comfortable and quite spacious, but provided very little natural light due to a small window and building directly next door. The location was fabulous for dining……
