“Great location”

Good hotel, met our expectations, pricey breakfast especially if you only want a "continental" breakfast and don't have much time.

“Another lovely stay at Lutetia”

We love Lutetia and stay there every time we are in Paris. This time when we first arrived we had been put in a room that was on the street side (which most guests prefer). We asked if we could be moved to the quiet back side of the hotel. We had stayed there before. Grace at the front desk consulted their records and on our second day they swiftly moved us to the very same room we'd so enjoyed the last time. On the morning we were meant to check out, our flight was cancelled due to Hurricane Irene. They extended us for an extra 4 days until we could fly home. As always, throughout our stay, everyone has been pleasant and most accommodating. One piece of constructive criticism is that the fitness room needs some work. It is laughably small and not well equipped: it, has very few free weights (a single set of adjustable hand barbells which max out at 9 kg each!) and very few machines. Even if they didn't expand the physical space, it could easily be better equipped if they asked a fitness consultant to advise them (It is also too hot due to air conditioning not functioning very well, if at all.)

“Great value and location”

Prior to our trip, I did a lot of research. Because of the location and classic Parisian style, Hotel Lutetia is a great choice. The hotel interior is beautiful (Art Deco), and clean and well maintained. There are cafes and shopping located all around, and if the weather is great (like it was when we were there) and you have good legs, you can walk to nearly every central Paris place of interest. If you don't want to walk, a Metro stop is located right across the street. There's a great market on Boulevard Raspail on Sunday mornings. Just walk out the front door, turn left and walk about two blocks. You can spend less or a lot more for a hotel in Paris, but the Lutetia is a great value and the location was perfect for us.

Area recommendations
The St. Germain area is great because of it's central location, great shopping and sidewalk cafes. It is vibrant and full of young Parisians. The architecture and atmosphere were old-Paris, and hadn't been spoiled by new buildings. We felt safe walking around at all times of the day or evening
When to go
You can't beat springtime in Paris. The weather is beautiful, and the city and the people are

“"A VERY SPECIAL VISIT"”

We received a warm and kind reception upon arrival at 7am on a Sunday morning. They allowed us to check in about 8 hours early which was greatly appreciated. The Saff is first class (Jean-Luc is the best!) and they took care of your every desire or concern with great care. Jean-Luc planned our entire two day trip to Normandy including train tickets , tour, taxi, and hotel accomodations. The Hotel is beautiful and grand but the rooms need some TLC. I believe that some have been remodeled but we did not receive one. However, they were clean and very roomy for a European hotel and the price we received for a March stay was very reasonable.

Getting around
We would recommend that you bring good socks and walking shoes. Most of the museums are within walking distance and your journey through Paris will be wonderful. We did buy the "Paris Pass" prior to leaving the United States which is pretty much an all inclusive package for all the sights in Paris. It also covers the bus and metro which have stops right outside the Hotel Lutetia. They are very straight forward and easy to use.
Must see
The "Louvre" is a must see but it is very crowded. We found the "Musee D Orsay " which has all the impressionists art much more relaxing. " Musee de L'Orangie" was great as well. They are all very close to one another.
Dining
You can save yourself some big bucks over the course of a week by stocking up at a grocery store with wine, snacks and such for your room and walking.
Comment from the hotel's management
thank you for your kind and detailed feedback. We are delighted to read that you enjoyed your time with us. I will compliment Jean-Luc for his personnal attention. We have renovated a great part of our inventory and will continue to update it this year. We look forward to your next visit and wish you all the best.

“Perfect Location”

This was our first time in Paris. We loved the location and the hotel itself was fabulous. On the nights when we were too tired to venture out, we enjoyed listening to the jazz trios in the hotel lounge. The martinis were a little pricey, but we didn't mind. We had one dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was outstanding! Room service was great and we had a nice little suite on the 7th floor with a peek-a-boo view of the Eiffel Tower. The suite had two little balconies where I was able to sit outside and enjoy a cigar. We loved the great location where we could walk to everything. We would definitely stay there again.

Area recommendations
The 6th or 7th arrondissements.
Getting around
We took the train/subway to Versailles. The station was right across the street from the Hotel Lutetia. The rail system was very easy to navigate and very affordable. We also bought a 5 day pass on the Batobus, which is essentially a sightseeing water taxi that goes up and down the Seine stopping at 7 or 8 key tourist locations.

Comment from the hotel's management
Thank you for sharing your comments on your last stay. I am glad you enjoyed our seafood at the brasserie. this is one of the key traditions of the hote. The Lutetia is celebrating its 100th anniversary, and our rooms are renovated on an ongoing basis. I regret that the room you were given did not meet your expectations. I hope to have the pleasure to welcome you for a much better experience next time. Kind regards,

“Would go back again”

The staff was very helpful at this hotel not only while checking in, but answering any questions that we may have about the underground or any restaurants in the area. The room was ample enough for the three of us and it was nice to have a turn down service every night. At times, you could hear people in the other room. The staff never disturbed you unless it was necessary. The location of the hotel could not make it any easier to get around in Paris.

Area recommendations
Champ Elysees was the location in which we visited the most because it is a central location to all of the museums and monuments in Paris, such as the Louvre and the Arch de Triomphe.
Getting around
The Underground was quick and efficient in traveling to any location in Paris. Each Underground station is decorated with a different theme. We bought a three day pass, so we did not have to worry about buying tickets every time. Once our three days was complete, the staff was very helpful in assisting us in buying new tickets. We attempted to walk to a restaurant the first night in Paris and became lost numerous times. The streets were very confusing.
Must see
Have a schedule of what you would like to complete that day. You must see the Eiffel Tower (morning), Arch de Triomphe (night), the Louvre, and Montmartre.
Dining
I would definitely get a travel book like "The Top Ten of Paris" in order to decide where to eat. The locations in this book provide places where both English and French may be spoken. Translation in other restaurants was a bit difficult if you do not speak French.
