“Property was very clean, but tired, pool was shut down because of algae blooms just before we arrived and then opened back up. Pepe was one of the activity directors! Great! They had free bikes. Rode bikes and walked into town a lot. Breakfast was always good. Need to control the birds better. They would eat your food if you weren’t sitting at the table.”

“This was our 3rd visit to Mahekal and this was once my favorite getaway but will not likely return again. Had a couple of unpleasant experiences with waitstaff at Los Olas restaurant. Waiter was unfriendly, unkind and I was treated very disrespectfully, unattended to during our meal. The pool towels ran out almost daily, and the pool/hot tub hours close at 7pm-much too soon in the day to close.”

“A lovely place to stay. Everything we needed was available. The grounds were like a little oassis. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.”

“The rooms are old and not clean. The sliding doors barely work. The property is worn down and needs a lot of work. We didn’t have hot water for three days and they could have cared less. Disappointed, but you get what you pay for. ”

“Decent location and price, but cleanliness felt like an issue for us. The sheets and curtains were stained, room was cleaned during our stay but floors did not get swept. The shower head in the washroom sprayed water over the glass and got the whole washroom wet, had to point it at the wall. The drywall around the fixture was also peeling/was broken which left drywall bits and dust in the shower. They also had a price list to replace things that were made dorty/damaged, as if they don’t do the……
