"Staff is very nice. "
Unexpected: $28 per day valet is the only parking available Unexpected: Bathroom was a handicapped accessible room..which means that there were bars everywhere in the otherwise gorgeous bathroom. Unexpected and unacceptable: Broken shower head: The shower head was hand held, and it was broken. It wouldn't stay up on the top of the bar. My husband had to tie it up with a piece of plastic bag. That held it up, but it still wouldn't stay facing forward. Unexpected and unacceptable: The top height was only about 4 1/2 feet from the floor..which would be great IF you were in a wheelchair. We are not tall people, but being 5'5" and 5'10" we had to bend way down to catch the shower and rinse off. Unexpected: 2 lights in the entryway of the room were burnt out leaving a very dark area when we came in. While these were fixed as soon as we mentioned it, they should have been taken care of earlier. Unexpected: the hotel next door is undergoing constant long term construction. Being that our room was facing this, it was very loud.

"Hotel is located in a nice area..."
Been here twice already I love the great pricing for the rooms we stayed for 6 days and its near to many restaurants and shops. We rent a car so going to the beaches or Miami is not far at all, Now one thing I would love to see that is very much needed are changes in the swimming pool area. Please you need better lounge chairs they are so so dirty and so uncomfortable. The pool is very big and the total area is very nice. There is tiki bar but never opened. This place can be awesome with the right changes and as I said the entire grounds are beautiful , the room is kept clean and very simple. But again with some minor changes it can go up in ratings. Never a person to complain and I would stay there again but with minor changes I can see more people staying there.

Fort Lauderdale Resorts & Spa Travel Guide

Surrounded by golden sand, palm trees, and turquoise water, Fort Lauderdale is a tropical paradise in South Florida. This beautiful ambiance is combined with urban sophistication and European elegance. With architectural styles such as Mediterranean revival and art deco, Fort Lauderdale resorts cater to leisure and business travelers alike. Some resorts have their own full-service marinas; after all, Fort Lauderdale is unofficially known as ""The Yachting Capital of the World."" Fort Lauderdale family resorts include lazy rivers with water slides and other features that are inspired by water parks including grottoes and waterfalls. Kid friendly resorts include daycare centers, outdoor checkers sets, video game rooms, and various facilities to keep children occupied when they're not building sandcastles on the beach.

    Fun Times to Visit

The peak season runs between June and August when hot temperatures and high humidity will make you want to dip into the Atlantic Ocean to cool off. Beach resorts in Fort Lauderdale also get filled to capacity in March and April, a period that marks spring break for students. If you want to get cheap deals on a Fort Lauderdale resort, consider booking a room on Expedia.com during the off-season. Running September through February, the off-season is a period when the temperatures are mild, in the mid-70s, yet warm enough for swimming in the Atlantic Ocean.

    Attractions Beyond the Beach

Home to Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale is one of Florida's busiest hubs for cruise ships. Watching colossal ships navigate the waters around Fort Lauderdale is an exciting sightseeing experience in itself. With attractions such as the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale and the Museum of Discovery and Science, the city offers other interesting places to visit on land. At the International Swimming Hall of Fame, the world's best professional swimmers are celebrated, and fascinating exhibits trace the history of competitive aquatic activities. Local history is presented in the Stranahan House, which stands as the oldest property in Fort Lauderdale.
