"Nice potential but bugs everywhere!"
My husband and I stayed here at the end of July to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The front desk staff was ok-- not the friendliest, but not rude in any way. Our room, while as far away as possible from everything, looked beautiful. However, we had serious bug problems. I'm not sure if the room was unoccupied all week (we stayed during the weekend) and wasn't checked, but we found 3 pretty large spiders around the room, and crickets were EVERYWHERE. I can handle a bug here and there but I generally appreciate the comfort of bugs not being where I sleep (or shower). My husband came to my rescue and removed most of the bugs, and we didn't have many issues after that in our room. The afternoon we checked in, we went straight to the grotto and spent most of our time there throughout our stay. We quickly learned the first night that HUGE crickets like to scale the rocks all over the area (so don't lean against the walls while in the grotto), the steps, etc... and learned to get inside before it starts getting dark because that's when they all come out along with some very large cockroaches. I realize we were in the desert and expected some wildlife outdoors, but we've stayed in the area many times and didn't encounter this at other properties. It was unfortunate because we booked this hotel solely for the grotto and night swims, which we didn't get to fully enjoy. Otherwise, it was fairly nice and there were a lot of activities/classes to enjoy.

"Beautiful resort "
Stay at the resort for a work conference, wish I could have spent more time taking advantage of the ammenties. Beautiful resort, staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and overall clean. I'm a clean freak so I did notice some dust near the bottom of the toilet. Nonetheless the housekeepers were nice and provide extras when asked.

Best and Worst Times to Visit Palm Springs

The summertime is the least popular time to visit this desert destination, unless you don’t mind sweltering temperatures in the triple digits. While the 100+ degrees F weather may deter some, if you do decide to visit during this time, stay somewhere with a pool and air conditioning.

The best time to visit Palm Springs is between January and May, when the days are warm and the nights are cool. Daytime temperatures are usually comfortable around the 70s and 80s F, which as a result, attract hordes of vacationers looking to escape winter weather. Post-summer season, from October to December, is another pleasant time to vacation here. Temperatures range from the high 60s to the low 90s F. Rates are also slightly cheaper during this time because it’s before the winter rush.

    Things to Do

Brave the heat and explore the great outdoors during your romp in Palm Springs. Embark on the Palm Canyon Trail to the Stone Palms in the Palm Springs Canyon. This hike boasts the juxtaposition of dry desert scenery and rushing waterfalls. For an easy stroll, check out the Tahquitz Canyon trail, and for more challenging terrain, hit the Skyline Train. During your stay, mosey through the Moorten Botanical Garden, and don’t miss the panoramic views from the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.

If you’d prefer to avoid the desert temperatures, spend an afternoon exploring the indoor museums. Linger around the exhibits at the Palm Springs Art Museum and examine the WWII aircraft at the Palm Springs Air Museum. While you’re in town, catch a quirky production of The Fabulous Palm Springs Follies or treat yourself to some retail therapy at the Palm Springs Outlets. However you decide to spend your desert vacation, rest up at one of the top Palm Springs resorts in town.
