Rooms next to elevator and front desk

Posted Sep 19, 2017
Pros: Uh, nothing.
Cons: Some sort of insulation--e.g., carpeting--to help deaden the noise from the elevator and reception area traffic.
Location: Location was nice--very close to Kensington gardens and the palace.
Worst hotel I have EVER stayed in. The room we were provided was right next to the elevator and the front desk. The noise level was intolerable. I have traveled in Europe and have grown accustomed to varying room and bathroom sizes--however, I was brushing my teeth at the sink and my husband was showering. When my husband finished showering, in order for him to exit the shower, I had to STEP OUT of the bathroom. We prepaid for this room--so you know, non-refundable. The room was so awful that we booked another hotel and walked away from this one--and the money we paid upfront for an eight-night stay. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my dog.

Nice hotel for the price

Posted Sep 9, 2017
Pros: Highlights were the crisp while sheets - really crisp and fresh! And comfy mattresses. Also fresh baked croissants and warmed chunks of baguette.
Cons: The cramped bathrooms and the basement level is not for everyone, though the room I had there was virtually brand new with white "marble" bath
Location: Great location walking distance to Bayswater underground station and the Westbourne Grove with trendy upscale shops, cafes, restaurants.
Everyone knows that London is expensive. Keeping that in mind this hotel is an good choice if you are on a budget. It is not a "budget hotel" per see but it is also not "4 star" caliber. I stayed there 3 nights (and have stayed there 3 or 4 times prior) and first night was sorry to have my assigned room on the basement level. They have gone to some trouble to make the rooms a nice as possible in a 3-star way but the doubles are tiny and cramped (which is okay - it's one of those London hotels that has combined 2 or 3 19th century town houses and has charm but the room sizes are small with a few exceptions - the luxury rooms however are a cut above). This hotel while not plush, does not make you feel pathetic in London which can happen if you stay in a really simple & threadbare hotel. So whilst not threadbare, rooms are small, amenities & breakfast are decent and plentiful, it's super clean but none of it is plush. Well, one should not expect plushness at the prices this hotel offers so it's all good! But just ask for a higher floor room if you don't want basement level. However, it was nice and quiet in the basement (there was a window!)

Pros: Most of the front desk staff was very friendly and professional.
Cons: If you offer early check in to a client, do not use it as an excuse to not properly clean and prepare the room.
Location: Location is great if you are not looking to be in the center of things, which is what I wanted. Very accessible to multiple subways, buses and taxis.
Room was not adequately cleaned. This hotel has rooms in the basement, so beware.

The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is that it was relatively clean. Otherwise, it was quite disappointing. No AC in the room. Incredibly thin walls meant that I could hear everything happening in other guests' rooms. The included breakfast was extremely limited with very few options. The hotel was undergoing some renevations, so getting to and from my room was an exercise in patience. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Close to the Tube

Posted Aug 2, 2017
Pros: The bathroom was nicely updated. It was relatively close to 2 different Tube stations and within walking distance to Kensington gardens and palace.
Cons: The layout of the room. There was barely enough room for one person let alone 2.
Location: There are 2 Tube stations within walking distance, access to Kensington Palace & gardens. There are a number of different cuisines to sample.
Room was very small. It was listed as a double and had a double bed in it. Unfortunately only one person could be up at a time. There was no room to pass each other in the little floor space available. Storage for suitcases was very limited and also impeded movement within the room. The closet space was insufficient for 2 people. The breakfast was good and did include a couple of protein sources in spite of being cold. The croissants were excellent

It was warm in London, hot in the room. Never cooled off. Open window was accessable to outside so couldn't leave window open at night or when gone. Kitchen vent fan right outside window that blew in kitchen smells at 6:00 am. Shower poured water all over the floor when showering.

Not the room pictured

Posted May 15, 2017
Pros: Excellent location. 24 hours staffing.
Cons: Maintainence
Location: All of Notting Hill. Portobello road is a few blocks away.
Looked like room had been trashed and quickly put back together. Lamp shades were bent up. Large picture with flowers had all the flowers plucked off. King size bed was a queen and a double chair was added in its place. Shower was in poor repair and had to fix the sink stopper before I could use. The room we had (17) was above the kitchen / laundry and so would not cool down. It is in a beautiful part of town and looks like it started out good but unfortunately maintanence does not seem to be a priority.

Not like the pictures

Posted May 5, 2017
Pros: Outside and staff.
Cons: Cleanliness. Can't do much about size. A shower curtain might be nice.
Location: Good location. Hyde park is close.
Lovely staff and very pretty from the outside. The rooms are so small you have nowhere to put your suitcase only one plug for curling iron's or blowdryers and the plug is in a very inconvenient place. The wood flooring has enough gaps in it you could lose a small dog. Not very clean. Towels are stained and lots of other people hair. Windows very dirty. Very disappointed wouldn't stay again.

Small room for a short stay

Posted Apr 3, 2017 on Hotels
The place was fit for a night stay only. I had a double bed in the smallest room possible. Didn't know my way around but found things to do. Close to Bayswater underground. Breakfast was just meat and cheese and breads, Rooms are very small and I was travelling alone.
