"I loved the canal view from my room. There is a swimming pool and a "pool" was created with ocean water and tropical fish, that has water flowing in from the boat canal. It was early May, low season, when I stayed and I felt like I had the place to myself. The room was nice and had everything I needed. You might want to rent a bike or a golf cart to get around. "Great spot for a trip. The resort had everything you could need. Felt safe the entire time. The all-inclusive made things easy. Food was hit or miss as expected but you could order 4 items to find 1 or 2 that were good. Service was excellent all around. Played golf at their Hard Rock Golf Club. That was NOT as good of an experience. Nice layout but the greens were punched and top dressed with a 1/2" of sand. That made it almost unplayable and not enjoyable at all. "The catalonia riviera maya was beautiful. Resort is beautiful, clean. Pools are great. Restaurant food is all delicious. Buffet could be a bit better. We went in june so off season and a lot of times a la cartes would be closed several times a week. If you didnt go to breakfast by 10 it was difficult to eat before supper we really had to plan meal times. Bartenders could have been friendlier but everyone else was lovely. Such a relaxing and lovely resort. Will definitely go back."
