This was our 5th visit to Esencia. We got married here 4 years ago and keep coming back. It is the perfect balance of understated beauty with warm, impeccable service (and the MOST delicious food). The new owner is really taking care to maintain the uniqueness of the property, while also making improvements. New furniture, new bath products, updated menus are just a few. The changes are lovely. We cannot say enough how special Esencia is. We recommend it to everyone we know.

The only disappointment was the inability to make restaurant reservations in advance. We will return! We visited in October and the resort and staff were amazing. Mr Paris, concierge for building 40 was very attentive and helpful. There was a mix up with the room situation and the manager Beatrice was so accommodating and followed up to make sure the rest of stay was positive. We traveled with two 9 year olds and all of us rated the experience and resort 10/10! I’d recommend it to everyone!

I've stayed here twice now, and will definitely be staying here again. It is the closest *nice* hotel to the downtown area and the price is reasonable for how clean and stylish the property is. Front desk is always staffed and ready to help. They have a laundry service with a quick turn around. The on-site restaurant has incredible breakfast. I've stayed at other resorts and hotels in Cozumel and I keep coming back to Hotel Puerto Libre.
