“This is the worst 5-star all-inclusive experience our family had during christmas. We did not have hot shower for three nights and the room has been freezing cold. We informed the hotel the first night and they kept sending maintenance people without fixing it. And whats worse, they did not really care about our problems. Everytime I called them, I need to explain the situation again. And what I got is 'we will send someone to fix' ' the hotel is fully booked so not possible to change the room'……

“I booked because the resort looked beautiful but the food was so bad. The pizza was from a frozen pizza and was soggy and undercooked in the middle. The meat from steakville was tough and they were out of tenderloin. The buffet was flavourless. The drinks were ok, no real effort in the craft or presentation of cocktails.”

“There were a lot of construction going on so most of the restaurants were closed when we got there and they combine one restaurant for the buffet and a dinner. They open it for other restaurants which was horrible. The beach was disgusting with the seaweed we could not go on the beach we could not get in the sea in the water.”

“It was our second time staying at Barcelo Colonial and it turned out to be much better in many ways than the 1st time. Highly recommend this resort for families with kids.”

“Our first all-inclusive and it was wonderful. Multiple restaurants and two food halls. Relaxing, part of a walkable neighborhood of shops and restaurants off sight and they had their own beach areas. Staff was so kind and rooms were clean, air conditioning worked great, nice sitting areas outside that were covered and not. Pools great-one with swim-up bar.
You'll have to get used to the sereques running around.
Our only complaint is we wish it was closer to the airport. Pay the extra $ to……
