Caribbean Hotel & Resort Travel Guide

Book a cruise to set sail towards a vacation of a lifetime. The adventure and excitement of a Caribbean vacation are waiting for you. There are hundreds of islands in the vast sea region waiting for tourists to visit. The warm tropical weather is one of the main reasons that thousands of tourists visit the islands every year. The beaches are pristine with white sand and clear, aqua waters. Picture yourself sitting on a strategically placed beach chair with a tropical drink in one hand and a juicy book in the other.

There are great hidden secrets in the Caribbean corridor. One little known treasure lies within the British Virgin Islands. There are 16 islands in this cluster, and they are all magnificent. Lying in a hammock between two palm trees, sipping on a cool drink and watching the beach revelers is a common realxing activity in the islands. There is no hurry to be anywhere, and the stunning scenery may coax you into adding a few days to your vacation. The hotels on these islands are privately owned making the experience more personal.

The U.S. Virgin Islands consist of St. Thomas, St. Croix, and St. John. St. Thomas is the most luxurious of the three islands where you will likely see yachts lining the waterways. St. Croix offers a more relaxed atmosphere that is less inhabited than the other two islands. On this island, sugar cane plantations provide lush green views for tourists to enjoy. Tours of the rum factories are available where taste testing is encouraged. St. John is a honeymooner's delight. It is comprised of more than 7,000 acres of park lands that entice nature-minded guests.

Jamaica is a favorite spot for people traveling to the Caribbean. Reggae music is as much a part of this set of islands as clear water and sunshine. Take a good camera when you visit these islands because the waterfalls and Blue Mountains make the scenery picture perfect. Dancing with a rum drink in your hand is as likely an adventure as scuba diving or snorkeling.

Caribbean vacations are for people who love the sand and surf. The options are endless and available to people from all walks of life. Each island has unique offerings that entice vacationers from around the world. Regardless of which island you decide to visit, you have a wonderful journey in store.

"Catalonia Royal Bavaro - Adults Only "
Overall it was a nice vacation, I was down for a wedding and most of the other guests/family were on the non-adults only side. Being able to speak Spanish is a huge plus because communication is hard I can't stress enough that if you are looking at both resorts the adults only side is the way to go by far. All I heard was horror stories all week about things other guests had to deal with on the non-adults only side. Flooding rooms, AC not working, clogged toilets, dirty rooms, etc. WiFi connectivity is terrible for pretty much everyone, so expect that. The lobbies are the place with the best connection and even then it's spotty. Other than that early in the morning and late at night (after midnight) is your best bet if you need wifi for work, email, etc. Most restaurants on property all open at the same time so it is always hard to get in to dinner exactly when you would like to eat. That is where the buffet comes in handy because during dinner hours you can always find something in there. I would also stress to order multiple entrees and drinks whenever you are eating and drinking because the portions and glasses are small & staff disappear If you are with a group or with others staying on the non-adults only side expect a lot of walking and communication is difficult without cell phones/wifi If staff is there to clean your room LET THEM, countless times we told them to come back in 5 minutes (in Spanish of course) and they would agree then never come back

    "Great Family get away!"
My fiance and I brought my 3 kids (13, 11, 9) and we had a blast. My boys are very active and enjoyed playing sand soccer with people from all over the world. The main pool is where the rest of the family resided the better portion of the trip and loved every minute of it. The pool was large enough and had enough different areas for all ages to enjoy. The staff was always accommodating. The bar tenders at the swim up bar, which was always packed, always had a smile on their faces and treated my kids great. One made up a cool handshake with my youngest son and he still talks about it. Room was always clean and AC worked great. The family suite was spacious enough for a family of 5 (battle for the shower before bed though after a long day). Lots of places to eat and food was decent for an all-inclusive resort. Favorites: Sand soccer for kids, main pool, Mexican restaurant, all staff at the resort, Avenue bar, night club (kids enjoyed it before 11pm), peacocks everywhere, arcade for the kids at night after dinner Not so favorites: No air flow trying to watch the shows at night (outside), seemed to be waiting for the train to get back to main lobby for dinner (figured out that walking was faster), power issues last day we were there, but they were quick to get new generators installed Recommendations: Have a bigger arcade area with better AC for kids, never ate at the Japanese steak house since it was $40 extra per person (only saw one family in there) reduce or free

"Nice hotel, just nice...right on the beach, though"
Cons - Not a bad hotel, but the staff could use some customer service training. 1.Bartender at the pool bar not sure how to take drink orders in the order that people walk up to the bar. I was 3rd in line and after he made drinks for customers number 4 and 5, I simply walked away. It wasn't Rush Street on a Friday night, you know. 2.Long check in lines and a faulty check out system. Instructions state to use in room phone to check out and an email would be sent with confirmation. Returned home almost 10 days ago and still no email. 3. Woman at concierge desk, simply did not know how to use a computer. Booked a kayak excursion and was told to wear comfortable clothing. Next day when ready to board the bus for the trip, was asked by another concierge representative if I brought my towel and change of clothes. What? The second concierge representative waited with the driver until I grabbed what I needed from the room. (I deeply regret not catching his name, so that I can praise him here by his full name). Pros - 1. The second concierge that I refered to above also worked a shift the following morning and as I walked by his desk on my way to the pool, he came out from around his counter to greet me and asked how my trip was and wanted to know if everything was alright. This is the guy who should teach everyone else about proper customer service. 2. YAMATO, Japanese Restaurant - EXCELLENT!!!! Ate there twice.
