Nice Hotel but needs some love and attention.Posted Oct 14, 2014
Location: Easy access to the surrounding beaches for variety. Pastelaria Busiris just across the road is a real gem. Best coffee and waffles.
The hotel is essentially clean, but it looks very used and needs some updating and attention. The bathroom especially needed some care. The bath is stained and there is mould in the corners and crevices. We had to have the shower (which is over the bath) repaired on our first night there as when turned on, the water pressure was non existent as the water comes our of the shower and the bath tap at the same time because the switch between bath and shower was broken. We had our breakfast included in our booking, but would definitely rather eat elsewhere next time. The hot breakfast choice was very bland and tasteless and the scrambled eggs tasted to be of the powdered variety. We stuck to toast, cold meat and cheese and even just toasting the bread required some patience as it had to be put through the toaster 3 times to get some colour on it. All in all, the hotel is not bad. It is right on the beach and is generally clean and tidy. But it needs an update to be properly considered as the 4 Star establishment is advertises itself to be on the front doors.

Hotel on beachPosted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: The location
Cons: The cleaning
Location: Beach, pool, cafes, shops, restaurants, stalls in the street, miles of beach, outdoor zumba once a week, music in some restaurants and bars.
Hotel has fantastic location, on the beach to the back and on the main pedestrian avenue with all the cafes and shops to the front. Pool and sunbed area a bit higgledy piggledy and small, but you are on the beach, so it doesn't really matter! Reception staff were all very nice but did not give clear information on arrival. We found out information little by little. Also wifi did not work in room until our last day. Cleaning was careless. Despite all that, we liked it very much and would stay there again and definitely recommend it.

Nice hotel, great locationPosted Aug 21, 2014
Pros: Location & staff.
Cons: Food & reliability of the shower.
Location: Short transfer from airport, near to water parks, markets and on the beach.
The rooms were very nice, although twice had to shower in other rooms due to shower not working. Noticed that other rooms were very basic & in need of updating. Breakfast was very good. Only ate in restaurant once (buffet) & not impressed with the quality or variety of food on offer. Hotel staff were excellent.

Excellent B&B on beach!Posted Jul 31, 2014
We have just returned from a wonderful 10 day break at the a Holiday Inn Algarve. The hotel is a little tired in places but we could not fault it. The rooms are comfortable, clean and fresh. The breakfast in a generous buffet and well cooked. The pool and beach are very excesible but can be very crowded- best to get a spot early! Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable B&B stay in the Algarve away from the larger resorts!

Fabulous location!Posted Jul 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
For the price, I was very satisfied with the room and the location couldn't be beat. The beach was crowded but beautiful and clean! We rented 2 lounge chairs and an umbrella for 15 Euros per day and we're very comfortable! I will definitely come back!!!

Good LocationPosted Jul 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
Hotels.com say the beds are King Size - They are not. They are at best a double. A small Double i would say. The rest of the room is great. Bed was small but very comfy. The room has a fridge which was good. went to local supermarket and got a few bottles of water to put in it. Bar food could be improved. wanted to watch the world cup in the bar with its nice view and aircon with hot snack food but they only offered sandwiches. thats not a evening meal. Hotel staff were great and friendly though. The shop is cheaper than the main shopping area outside for beach toys etc. The Hotel is right on the beach. Its around 15 euros if you want to rent a sunlounger but there is an area if you just want to put your towl down. plenty of shops nearby. PARKING is limited but free.

I enjoyed my stay. I wanted a quiet break near the sea and the hotel stay was good for me.

3 night stayPosted Jun 12, 2014
Pros: Location is great, nice pool, and views off the pool were beautiful
Cons: They need to upgrade facilities, and it is hard to believe in this day and age , you could not repair an elevator in less than 3 days.
Hotel is a bit dated...we booked and were given a room on the unrenovtaed side....carpets were very old and stained , and the wood furniture was splintering...we asked to be moved, and the front desk staff were accomodting and moved us to the renovated rooms. A/C was not great , the elevators did not work for almost the full 3 days, and guests were not compensated , other than one free breakfast. Food was expensive in the hotel, as you could go to a nearby local restaurant for almost half the price.
