“Perfect place to be when visiting Barcelona”

The staff was very helpful to us with our many questions. The beds are hard...everywhere in Europe, evidently. The room had an amazing view and shuttered windows. Air conditioning was non-existent, but unnecessary as you could just open the windows. Taxi station right across the street...convenient to get to the airport. Walking distance to busy tourist area. Nice restaurants/cafe's VERY close. It is an impersonal place, however. It could have been because we were Americans. No pay-per-view movies and only one English speaking television channel. Not a problem as we were not in our room very much. It felt very safe. I don't think we were able to get Wi-Fi there...important to my teenage daughter. Overall, I would hightly recommend it.

Hotel in brilliant location for what we wanted to do.....stayed in Barcelona lots of times and this has got to be the best value and quirkiest place yet! We three females shared a triple room with 3 single beds, and it was very comfortable; didn't feel cramped at all. Was a plus having the wash basin outside the bathroom so we could all get ready at our own pace in the morning. Reception staff were very attentive; offering maps, suggesting places to eat and supplying us with brollies, even though it wasn't raining and they obviously knew it was going to! Beautiful stairways and a terrace which was furnished beautifully.....although we had a lot of downpours so couldn't really enjoy the padded cushions! A special thank you to the dear receptionist who was waiting outside on the street for us when were late getting back for our taxi to the aiport last night; we weren't really delayed, we were just delaying the fact that we had to leave! Shall be back again soon, with hubby this time, I'm sure.

“A beautiful historic Barcelona building”

This hotel was out of our budget by only a tiny bit but geez we're glad we payed that little bit extra. It is in a fantastic location, it's in a delightful building and the room was very comfortable. We were up the back of the hotel which meant we didn't get much daylight in the room but this was the only downside (if you can even call it that). It's a 5 minute walk to the bus that goes directly to the airport (much cheaper than a taxi) and it's surrounded by restaurants. The only thing the hotel didn't have was a pool BUT it did have a lovely deck out the back for sun bathing.

“Great hotel”

Beautiful hotel. We had 1st floor room by outside terrace. Very clean. Bathroom / shower lovely. Good location. Very nice staff. Only downside is no breakfast facilities, or kettle in room, hence 4 score above. However, you can get a great coffee from the nearby cafes. We stayed last week when the weather was good but not stifling. Air con not particularly effective. Would stay there again.

“Beautiful hotel in a great location”

This hotel is ideally situated for exploring Barcelona, right at the top of the Ramblas. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and offer great suggestions for sights and restaurants. The hotel itself is beautiful, full of character, with well equipped and stylish rooms. The public areas are also quiet and spacious, with a nice library and deck area. I would definitely stay here again if I return to Barcelona and would recommend to anyone.

“Fantastic Praktik Rambla”

The Praktik Rambla, located a on the much more quiet Rambla de Catalunya, is fantastic. The entrance to the hotel and the design in and around it is great and modern but with a rustic feel. The staff was all amazingly friendly, always cheerful and happy to help and were fun to joke with (I prefer fun staff instead of purely professional staff, these were both). The room was surprisingly small (not much space beyond the bed) but tastefully decorated with bold but neutral colors and (very) high ceilings. The bathroom was in contrast very big, and decorated with funky green tile and the shower-head is the biggest I have ever seen, you'll love it! The only drawback to the room was that it felt slightly cramped at times and there was no good place to put your suitcase, and clothing storage was also scarce. That said, after the initial "surprise", we made it work just fine and thought no more of it. There's also an in-room safe that's quite large. The room got cleaned to perfection every day, and the "Spa products" are truly top notch. If you plan on spending lots of time in your room, this is not your hotel, and probably not your city either for that matter, for any other type of trip, this is a brilliant hotel. The beds are very comfortable and the pillows are great (this goes a long way in my book), and in our case the room was quiet and we slept with the windows open (there is an A/C as well if needed, in April the nights are still slightly chilly).

Design of room was lovely, very funky! Bed was very comfy, room temperature ok. Bathroom was lovely design, although annoyingly there was nothing like a shower curtain, so the floor got quite wet. Plenty of towels provided. Corridor was a bit noisy, but so shattered that we didn't get disturbed by it. Terrace was lovely, very unusual. Staff here are brilliant and very helpful. Location also great. Would definately stay again.

“Interesting hotel in a wonderful old building”

An interesting hotel in a stylish building. If you are in Barcelona to view architecture, then this is a great hotel to base your trip from. There are very few facilities at this hotel, but the rooms and beds are comfortable and clean. The surrounding area is vibrant, but not over the top the way the full on Las Ramblas experience can be. Great pizza restaurant next door as well!
