Clean and well-presented. Avoid cooked breakfasts.Posted Aug 25, 2013
Pros: Location, clean.
Cons: The cooked breakfasts and more of a feeling that the staff cared about our opinion.
It's an okay place to stay, on an easy bus-route into the centre of the city. More information on arrival would have been helpful - e.g. buy a bus day pass for just £3.50 instead of £1.50 per ride. We stayed 2 nights. For our first breakfast we opted for the cooked. Service was very slow - by reception staff that are not really trained or wanting to be waiters. The traditional Scottish Breakfast was served on cold plates. The sausages were gristly and of the worst quality. My scrambled eggs with salmon were over-cooked and thrown over a thin slice of luke-warm brown toast. No presentation effort! Combine this with cold plates and it was not a pleasant experience. I started with the porridge, and although I waited 15 minutes for it, it was good. We made an effort to actually mention our dissatisfaction with the breakfast immediately, and the next day we opted for the cold buffet, which was fine, and the safer bet. On check-out, we rather hoped that a small token gesture off the bill would have made us feel that our complaint the previous day had been noted and passed on to the management, but no, nothing! If we ever return to Edinburgh, we would try somewhere else.

Dunstane City HotelPosted Jan 24, 2012
Pros: The hotel was beautifully presented and very clean and the breakfast provided was excellent with a wide range of food available.
Cons: One minor issue was that the room was really warm, which made me sleep more than I wanted!
Location: Just outside the city centre which makes it very accessible.
The hotel was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay there.

Dunstane City hotel - a basement small roomPosted Sep 8, 2011 on Hotels.com
I was shocked when I was taken to my room after my initial thought going into the hotel, was of a modern, trendy hotel. Then you are taken into a very small basement room which I thought was terrible. There is also no mention of the road being very noisy outside as this hotel is on a main road. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone

Clean and Ultra modern HotelPosted Mar 17, 2011 on Hotels.com
I have stayed in a single exec room. The room was very clean with modern decor. It comes with shower and luxury toileries. The room is small and has low roof. It may not be suitable for tall people. It has a big dining area with breakfast bar serving cereals, fruits and pastries. Cooked breakfast tastes ok, not that tasty.
