great midtown location

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: Location, nice room, great staff.
Location: we could walk to Times Square and then easy and quick train ride downtown where we took ferry to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
the hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating, the location was great, we could walk to Times Square but were in a little bit of a quieter spot. we had a corner room with great views We had our 2 kids with us and they slept on the pull out couch-all very comfortable. It was nice having a kitchen so we didn't need to eat out every meal and have cold drinks and snacks in our room. We would definitely stay here again when we come back to NYC.

Perfect hotel

Posted Oct 13, 2014
I've stayed in 5 hotels in Manhattan as a tourist all of which have been small and with a view of a wall this hotel was by the best, the room was huge, the view of the Chrysler was amazing and the location on 34th St was perfect, I initially thought it might be too Far East but I was worried for no reason. Having a kitchen was really handy, and the Murrey Hill market is a fantastic deli. The staff at the hotel are friendly and wine hour was an added bonus. I highly recommend this hotel.

Will definitely return

Posted Oct 7, 2014
Pros: The Staff were very friendly and informative, they are one of the reasons we will return.
Cons: More information about the Hotel, for instance we wouild not have known about the wine reception every day at 4pm where one could meet other guests.
Location: Brilliant location, loads of places to eat. Several supermarkets and so close to major attractions, easy walking distance to all the major attractions
Very pleaseant staff, not in your face but always available and helpful. We were very pleasantly suprised with the location and the suite.

Amazing hotel

Posted Oct 1, 2014
My husband and I took our vacation to NYC in September of 2014. This hotel was amazing. Great location and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. But the best part of it all was how clean our room was when we arrived and how clean housekeeping kept it. Beyond satisfied and will definitely return

The AMAZING AFFINIA DUMONT!!!

Posted Sep 25, 2014
Pros: Everything. The staff was FANTASTIC!!
I took my niece on a trip to Manhattan in NYC to celebrate her birth on 9/11/2001. The folks at the Affinia Dumont were SO AMAZING!!! They gave us a SPECTACULAR room with a view, helped us with every question we had - and even sent a special birthday treat to our room on her birthday!! We could not have had a better vacation or a more enjoyable experience than we had at the Affinia Dumont!!

Great location and staff but a bit worn.

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Hotel is located in a great area. Quick access to the Grand Central terminal. Easy walk to several sites and good restaurants. Hotel rooms are showing signs of age and limited maintenance. We stayed in a basic king bed studio ( room 1607). The mattress was in need of replacement and the air conditioner was quite loud.

Great hotel in a good location.

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: The location was great, the staff friendly, and there was a very useful guest laundry on B level - $2 for the washer and $2 for the dryer.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: The Affinia Dumont is on 34th Street - near the East River. It is within a few minutes walk of the Empire State Building and Grand Central Station.
The Affinia Dumont is on 34th Street - near the East River. The hotel is 37 stories tall, our junior suite was on the 18th floor - and had a dual aspect with a great view of the Chrysler Building. The suite was very spacious, had a separate kitchenette which was fully equipped, and a good sized lounge area. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There was a wine hour from 5pm to 6pm every day in reception.

Excellent stay!

Posted Sep 4, 2014
Loved the location, just a bit off the craziness of Time Square.... was upgraded to a suite with kitchen, large living room and large bedroom with two king beds... had all the amenities needed and more.. fluffy big towels and nice robes. great pillows and you can even select your own choice of pillow comfort. Lots of storage space for any city, let alone NYC! had complimentary wine for guests each day around 5 pm... the staff were all pleasant and very helpful, the doorman always opened the door with a smile. Would stay again for sure!
