“A "rose" without the thorns...”

My compliments to the staff of the Rose Hotel for their helpful and caring attitude during my recent stay in Shenyang, China. The good: --Several hotel staff members spoke English which proved invaluable to this good old boy from Texas. Hotel staff provided several excellent tips for day trips, shopping excursions, dining and coordinated transportation. --The breakfast buffet was a great way to start each day.. an excellent value. --The room was decorated very nice and was comfortable. I would have preferred a real sofa or chairs in the room instead of a futon, but for a couple with a small child, it would be perfect. --Great views from the hotel's many windows. This is a hotel that you want a room on a higher floor to take advantage of the views. --The Rose Hotel is smack dab in the middle of Shenyang's prime shopping zone. You could literally shop for days in any direction. --Excellent location for jumping on the subway (practically at the hotel's front door), hailing a taxi or taking a bus. Once you figure out the mass transit connections, it is easy to get anywhere. --Shenyang's Imperial Palace and other historical sites are within easy walking distance. The bad: --If you are staying for just a day or two, then my room's storage was okay... otherwise, not adequate. Not enough closet space nor drawers to organize clothing for an extended stay. The ugly: None... this place is awesome thanks to its people !

“A very good hotel for a 7 - 10 day stay”

I have selected this hotel four times. It's near all the stores and restaurants you would ever need. An ancient palace is nearby. There are many street vendors selling interesting food, including the popular fruit-on-a-stick. I will stay at this hotel in the future.

“5 Days in Shenyang”

The Shenyang Rose Hotel is right in the downtown area. There are shops and restaurants everywhere. Unless you know a local resident, you'll miss out on some smaller shopping malls that are not so apparent from the outside. There is a good restaurant on the third floor.

I was visiting shenyang during national holiday week and stayed 1 week . room was fair and seem like old hotel. closet space was small and bed was hard . lighting poor in hallway and never fixed during my stay. first floor resturant seem old and see cockroaches near cashier. would not recommend this hotel again. the positive side was the price inexpensive and we got 2 new bottle waters every day. the room was clean.
